Moisture Comes From Water… Check the Label!

I feel like my title is common sense but… when I saw a post on Instagram that said that exact same thing I was like really?

So, when it comes to having natural hair, I’m a newbie to the trend (I say trend because its my personal opinion that everyone will hop off of the natural hair bandwagon eventually).  But anyway, I’m still trying to figure out what products work best for me and which products don’t, hair styles for short natural hair, and how to not  wake up looking like Samuel L. Jackson every morning…. but that’s another post.

One of the main things I’ve been trying to figure out is which products to use for moisture.  My hair has a 4c curl pattern (Type 4 Hair), so it takes a lot for me to retain moisture.  Due to this, I’ve been buying every product under the sun to maximize the moisture in my hair.

Yesterday while scrolling through IG, I saw a post that said “Moisture comes from water, not products.  Check the ingredient list of your products and look for water”   This statement did wonders for me… and while it seems like it would be common sense, I know I can’t be the only person that was like WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAT!!!!   OK so, luckily, the majority of the products I’ve been using have water as the main ingredient so I’m in the clear.  BUT, this definitely taught me to look at the label of the products that I’m buying in an attempt to retain moisture in my hair.
